I believe Archie is visiting the site from Hounslow, Vancouver, and Alpharetta. I myself visited in the last 60 minutes from Cincinnati, Newcastle Upon Tyne (so fancy), and Allendale.

ReplyDeleteArchie's right about M'boro. Home of Middle Tennessee State University, which, until around 1998, had NATHAN BEDFORD FORREST as a MASCOT. I s**t you not. Oh, they said the guy in Confederate cavalry gear with the distinctive facial hair wasn't NECESSARILY Forrest... although the Murfreesboro sports teams are called the RAIDERS. Yeah, eventually they bowed to pressure. It's a miserable little town with a mostly-to-not-entirely miserable school - the kind of place that has a bureaucracy capable of supporting about 8,000 kids but keeps pushing enrollment up past the 25,000 mark... without providing the extra services they could afford to provide with all the extra cash. There are some wonderful people there, really, but... yeargh
