So, it's the first week of class, your classroom is packed full of students, and someone is being such a douche-bag that you must kick them out.
At every school I have worked at, the policy was as follows: In the event that you must kick a student out of class, you must get their name(s) and then report them to the Dean immediately. So, here is my question.
Q: What happens if you don't know the student's name or the student won't give it to you?
Ask for everyone else's name in the roll; if he's on it, chuck him out. If not, photograph him and run the shot down to campus police or admissions with a note describing his behavoir.
ReplyDeleteAt my school, students are required to tell public safety officers who they are, so I'd call in an officer to kick the student out. If the student left beforehand, I'd call an officer the next time the student returned.
ReplyDeleteTake attendance by calling the roll on the second day, and every day thereafter until he shows up.
ReplyDeleteTake roll after DB leaves. From the whittled down list, take a look at ID photos, certainly on file somewhere on campus...
ReplyDeleteHave grad student follow him to parking lot and photograph license plate. DPS will find'im.
