You could f...My programme was cohort-based as well. You could fail individual courses (mark too low), or fail a term (overall average too low, or failing too many courses). If you failed a course without failing the term, you weren't given a special time over the summer to make up the course. You just had to make it up on your own within (I believe) two years.
