"Happiness is not conserved. We know scientifically that matter is neither created nor destroyed; the opposite of this must be true of happiness. [sic]"
No this sounds like an Intro Philosophy course or a Lit class where postmodern thinking is encouraged. I'm guessing he confused matter with energy, then got confused while reading a Cliff's Notes on General Relativity.
Here I sit with a stack of 110 bluebooks, 99 of which will (I know full well from their quiz performance) be filled with the most unmitigated tripe...hmmm, why is tripe always unmitigated?
When asked abut the term "esoteric," one student responded, "It has something to due (sic) with poetry and allusions. I can't remember the whole thing."
I need to make a run to the liquor store. My friend Jameson will be helping me grade, no doubt.
I sure hope this wasn't in a physics course!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Matter can too be destroyed: ever hear of a nuclear weapon? E = m c^2?
