Have I missed something? Maybe I should aim to be a head football coach in my next life: see the salary season.

    RYS ran a bunch of these last year I think - Cali schools.

    I sorted this file for English to find an old pal, Walter Benn Michaels. He makes $176k. He's worth it. It seems like a lot, I know, but he's worth every dime.

    I can't say that Zook isn't worth his 7 figures either.

    I have a hard time discussing salaries because it's all so apples, oranges, and doubloons.

    I second the thought that Walter Benn Michaels is worth $176K a year (not that I'd have a stake in higher salaries for English proffies or anything. But, seriously, Michaels does good work).

    Walter pisses off all the right people. For that reason alone he deserves a raise.
