Bad seasonal haiku...

Students returning
like grumpy swallows; too tired
to get up for class.

Leaves are turning and
there's more colour in my room:
new folders, new pens.

On my desk, white drifts
of memos build; heralding
the snowflakes to come.

    And it's lovely, too, especially the last three lines. Doesn't it feel good to expound in small ways?
