Some Blurry Masterpieces.

In August, the late Gordon Presto posted his favorite unused and blurry images from the famed RYS/CM Picasa Image Gallery.

I endeavor to do the same now. Please to, as they used to say, back in time, enjoy.

  1. Ah! Nostalgia! I love 'em all.

My fave is Beaker Ben giving the thumbs up. Crazzy, as Walt used to say, and I always loved Walt's avatar. You KNOW he's sweaty, don't you?

  2. "You KNOW he's sweaty, don't you?"

He's just trying to sweat the crazzy out.

    Like a shvitz!

  3. RGM. Still makes me laugh, even when we correspond in actual email.

  4. Oh, God, I remember that poor guy (the one in the crown, "But I MIGHT take this job in OKLAHOMA, instead!") Had a TT job somewhere, but decided he might find it more fulfilling to work somewhere, you know, better. So he applied all over the place. Fair enough.

But then he talked to ALL his colleagues about all the WONDERFUL jobs he might take, at all these anywherebuthere places. There were so many places he'd rather be than here! And there were so many jobs out there! (This was a few years back). He showed them maps, he talked about locations, he talked up the other programs ... And his colleagues were nice to him, encouraging even, didn't show any sign of offense.

And then he didn't get any offers. He didn't even get any campus interviews.

So now it was dawning on him that maybe he shouldn't have bored all his obviously very nice colleagues senseless with all the constant chatter about how wonderful all these other places were, how much better than hee, and how much better everything was going to be once he got the hell out of this dump. Because now, you know, quite apart from the fact that he might have quite unintentionally offended them, how the hell was he going to walk down the hall knowing they all knew he hadn't had a single nibble?

Talk about Super Special profflakes. On the other hand I couldn't help but feel sorry for him.
