Dumbass Alert.

Burning text books could be cause of frat house fire

Burning text books may have been the cause of the fire that burned down the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house at Louisiana Tech in Ruston Saturday afternoon.

"I think some of the guys that were maybe doing an end of year celebration and burning some books or whatever, so we'll look into that," says Sophomore and Pi Kappa Alpha president John Chestnut.

Fire investigators will be looking for evidence that burning books were the source of the blaze, and confirm they have been told where it may have started. "Law enforcement was told that someone had started a fire in the chimney, whether to cook or for whatever reason, I don't know," says Ruston Police Department Lt. Tim Parker.

  1. “In burning these testaments to heathenism, we EX-OR-CISE the demons of Biology, Mathematics, and History that threaten to lead our eternal souls to torment and damnation! DEMONS, BEGONE!”

  2. This puts them somewhere between Homo erectus and affluent humans born within the last 500 years.

  3. At least I was careful when I burned my dissertation.

  4. Watch out / you might get what you're after...
(Though, I suspect, not what Byrne et al. had in mind...)

  5. Oooo baby, strange but not a stranger.

  6. Is it just me, or do the responses from the PKA president and from the cop sound really similar? Wonder if Lt. Tim is an alum and/or a brother.
