When your nose does run run run
And you've only just begun!
Grading deadline? Looms ahead
Me? I feel like I'm half-dead
Students? Haven't heard a word I've said
Grammar errors everywhere!
Yet they tell me I'm unfair?
How do they dare!?
As I sit and cough and sneeze
My lungs do struggle and I wheeze
While students ask for extension please?
Too bad little flaky
If I can work while my body's achy
Then your grade can surely breaky!
Oh well! No time for posting
There are essays and tests for roasting
Guess you shouldn't have spent the semester coasting!

Opened my email this morning to two emails from students who didn't turn in the second paper--"Can I do it for partial credit?" Uh, no.
And I worked my way through research papers on Saturday that made my blood boil because they DID.NOT.LISTEN.
So plow on, Gradjunct. You're almost there.

ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon, gradjunct. For whatever it's worth, my theory is that sickness at this time of year is often a sign of a worn-down immune system brought on by overwork over the preceding months. Unfortunately, I don't have a remedy for this condition, which I've experienced more than once myself.
