The really funny part is that, if one were to send that caption with that image back to the time from which the image came, no one would have gotten the joke, because the very concept would have been inconceivable. Come after a teacher with a buggy whip, because the teacher gave one's child a low grade, which the child earned? Even my Mom, who was born in 1915 and observed "we've had cars and telephones for as long as I can remember," would have found it unbelievable.
