Next year is the “Year of the Sheep” so what could be better than sending out a nengajo (new years card) of yourself posing with an actual live sheep? Well, Uminonakamichi Seaside Park in Higashi-ku has this all set up for you! Friendly sheep will stand with you and your friends in front of a painted backdrop with the words “A Happy New Year”, a drawing of Mt. Fuji and an image of the hatsumode, the first sunrise of the year. This service is free of charge and available until Jan. 12 (10:30~12:00, 13:30~15:00, closed on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1). Nope. Not touching this.
ReplyDeleteGo on. At 410 yen, it's not as if you're being fleeced.
ReplyDeleteWould that be a Happy Ewe Near?
ReplyDeleteFunnily enough, "the sheep incident" (as people here are calling it) still has never been mentioned on my.fresnostate.edu (run by the administration), although it was reported on by the campus newspaper (run by students), as well as the Fresno Bee (the local independent, civilian newspaper).
