I'm so heartsick. This world seems to be off its rails. A day doesn't pass when something that is simply stupefying happens. Today's news hit me so hard, and I don't know why. The only members of the LGBT community who are my friends are people I work with, and we're a strange and sort of disconnected bunch. I read about the Los Angeles arrest of the guy with the guns and the bombs headed to the Pride Parade in downtown LA. Thank God they got him. God, it feels odd to call on God, when sometimes, even for a spiritual person it seems we humans are pretty much calling the shots and fucking everything up.#prayfororlando
God gave us free will. Some of us truly f--- that up. God bless the Orlando victims.
Such horror and despair.
So terrifying, so heartbreaking, so familiar. Lord help us all (and no, I don't know what God is up to, either, other than letting we humans work things out on our own, presumably for our own good, but oh, my, are we bad at it sometimes, and often when we're at our worst -- as well as our best -- we're claiming to act in God's name. I'm pretty sure that's blasphemy, maybe even the sin against the holy spirit, but if I say that, am I, even a little, entering the same mental space as the shooter, just from another angle?)
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed . . .
