  2. Is this another Cal original? I love these. I get so jaded at times that a peek into the lives of the flakes (even if they're not mine) just makes me realize that I'm actually doing this job for a good reason...

Love the kids...shouldn't call them kids, I guess...but I love the young people...

  4. Tres cute. But they have so much more STUFF than I remember. TV, microwave, crock pot, toaster? Dang.

  5. Marcia, I thought the same thing! We had a hot pot that was perfect for Ramen noodles and Velveeta Shells and Cheese and a fridge that held a quart of milk and a couple of 40s of Mickey's. My students don't have a clue what a hot pot is. They are, however, familiar with the delight of Mickey's.

But I appreciate the memories the video brought back. I forgot about eating Froot Loops in the dorm before class because I was too lazy to go down 2 flights to the cafeteria.

I guess soon I'll admit to all the classes I used to skip!

Thanks for the video, Fab/Misery :)

  6. Prissy, I must be a lot older than you. I had a record player (later a boom box), a futon, and a plastic milk crate to hold my delicious dried snacks. No plug-in kitchen appliances of any kind. Beer was $1 a pitcher, a couple of blocks away -- totally worth the walk.
