Photos of naked college sex romp 'were never meant to go viral' claims student who snapped the tryst

for the Daily Mail

The student who took the photographs at the centre of the USC sex scandal claimed today that he only snapped them to prove to friends that he wasn't making up the story about the rooftop tryst.

The photographer was one of a group of students who watched the open air liaison from their dorm in the Birnkrant Residential Hall at the Los Angeles college.

But he said the laughter turned to fear when the students became afraid for the safety of the couple when they appeared to go too close to the edge of the college's highest building.

Oh my: The couple quickly engage in what appears to be sexual relationsThat's when the students called campus security guards and the couple were caught,' he added.

The student, who wasn't identified, said he never meant for the pictures to go viral and admitted he wished he had never taken them.

The student was interviewed by USC's TV network Annenberg TV News, but the footage didn't show his face and his voice was digitally disguised.

He said he initially posted the candid snaps on a private Photobucket account that required a password to access so he could share it with college friends.

But he claimed another student copied the pics and sent them around other freely accessible websites.

'There was a girl on our floor and apparently there was a girl who had been on higher floors and she told her about it. She came down and knocked on all the doors and we all ran across the hall. There were probably about 10 or 15 of us and we were pretty shocked and then we thought it was pretty funny,' he said.
