What Does Title III REALLY Address??

They are high-risk, but embezzlement is not the
answer!
 Dear Title III Coordinator,

Can you please stop telling everyone that you work with high-risk individuals?  Because, quite frankly, YOU DON'T!  All you do is allocate funding, and very little of it I might add.

You know those people you hired?  You know, the tutors?  You pay them minimum wage to impersonate social workers.  They are the ones who work with the high risk individuals, not you!

In fact, the only time I ever saw you in the tutoring center was when you came by to fire the tutor who had a history of refusing to do people's homework for him.  And then, you tried to say that there were on-going "problems" with this guy.  Yes, refusing to do their homework made some students cry and gossip to the Dean.  But, then again, he was just doing his job douchbag!

I just would like to ask a question.  If he was such a horrible tutor, then why did you make him my mentor?  That very act calls you into question.

Where the fuck is the money going?  Never mind.  You don't have to answer that.  You claim that there is not very much of it to begin with.  However, we have to take your word for it, since you never let us see the records.

Not only that, but you make it a fucking act of Congress whenever we need something.  Why did it have to take two semesters to get a white-board?

Here is what I think is happening:  Title III is not there for the high-risk students.  It's the other way around!  Our school welcomes ill-prepared uneducated people with open arms.  Why?  I know why!  To justify asking for a Title III grant and then pocketing the money.

Sincerely,

your very observant EMH

P.S.:  While I don't like the practice of handing people bad parachutes, for you I will make an exception to that!

  1. A good friend is a college tutor for athletes at Big Southern State. She is treated HORRIBLY by her employers -- she's not allowed to bring a computer into her tutoring sessions, she's not allowed to bring coffee/drinks into them (although the students can bring in movable feasts), her time sheets are closely examined each week for "fudging," etc. She's not allowed to go to the bathroom in between tutoring sessions because she might...I don't even know what she might do.

Anyway -- her comment was that as much as our department tends to trash-talk the athletes, the athletes are actually the people who are the most respectful to her...
