Tonight we're starting the move to Wordpress, a much more robust and easier-to-use bit of blogging software. I think you'll find very little will change, but a lot of my headaches will go away. Yay for me.
The files will move gradually, so I'll leave this page up for a day, but we should be over there full time sometime Sunday.
You'll have to type the full new address for a few days while we get the collegemisery.com domain switched over. (Somebody forgot!)
** APRIL FOOL'S LINKS HAVE BEEN TAKEN DOWN.**
Fuck me, look at this old monitor! |
love you guys, love katie and her kitties. chocolate chip cookie recipe hidden splendidly. you think I won't make them, but i will!
ReplyDeleteAnd give to your students. That's what Katie would do.
DeleteWait, where's the cookie recipe??
DeleteThe cookies are right before or right after the baseball box score on the blue screen of death page.
DeleteI was so dutifully prepared to create a new Wordpress account. But I was so pissed, too, because I already have a Wordpress account. So when you sent me to Tumblr, I realized the joke, and I laughed... OH HOW I LAUGHED!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteEverybody: take a good long look at the calendar....
ReplyDeleteThis is better than a basket full of chocolate eggs and marshmallow bunnies.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Fab!
I wonder how long it took??!! I LOVED IT!
DeleteYou silly goof, Fab Sun. XOXO right back 'atcha.
ReplyDeleteGod I hope you had Katie's permission, or we're all screwed.
ReplyDeleteLove you, Fab!
How could he get it? As far as I can tell, no one has ever admitted to *being* Katie, even to the moderator(s). Katie doesn't exist. And no mention was made of her real-life alter-ego, stalkee, or whatever the case may be (nor, I assume, was any content stolen from her this time).
DeleteSomeone used to go on and on about knowing Katie through her "famous" blog. But then, I always assumed it was Katie under a Sue Demin.
DeleteHey, Fab, Katie's on the phone. Will you take it?
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!!! Thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteBrilliant.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, lovely. Took me a minute, of course, cuz I'm a idjit. But I love it!
ReplyDelete(insert we're not worthy GIF here)

DeleteI'm tickled and smiling
ReplyDeleteat Fab Sun's beguiling.
Love you! Love you! Love you!
ReplyDeleteFab! Made my day!
ReplyDeleteI got as far as the tumblr before it occurred to me what day it was (the fact that it was c. 7 a.m. may have played a role). After that, I simply enjoyed. Thanks, Fab!
ReplyDeleteYeah, the Tumblr was a very nice touch. Blue Screen of Death was brilliant, too!
DeleteLet's see what pranks my students left on their last test for me now....
One must be on one's toes around here! Loved it, Fab.
ReplyDeleteReading this was worth getting out of bed!
ReplyDeleteI laughed so hard I peed a little!
ReplyDeleteIt's like a scavenger hunt with cookies at the end.
ReplyDeletenicely done
ReplyDeleteI think this clearly demonstrates that professors have too much time on their hands and need to have more courses assigned to them.
ReplyDeleteI kid. Awesome job Fab.
Thanks, Fab!
ReplyDeleteTo quote Will S: "Excellent! why, this is the best fooling, when all is done."
Awesome Katie parody. about that cookie recipe - really? dissolve the baking soda in water? But won't that, um, un-fizz it? So the cookies will be flat? Must try this.
ReplyDeleteThanks Fab!
Here's where the cookie recipe comes from, and I can affirm that when done right they are amazing.

I believe that "fuck me" and "look at this old monitor" are two different commands, Fab. Which is it?
ReplyDelete*evil grin*
The wallpapered duck is a particularly awesome touch!
Should be a semi-colon there!!
DeleteGlorious. The cookies are a lie.
ReplyDeleteAll that clicking was worth it! Thanks for making my day.
ReplyDeleteFake.
ReplyDeleteOf all the comments on today's prank, Ben, yours was the only one to make me laugh out loud. And not LOL, mind you, but have a nice, long glorious belly-chuckle.
DeleteWell done. Yo.
Oh my God. Can I tell you how much I loved this? I took the opportunity to visit the "real" Katie's blog (don't worry--I won't name or link it), and you really have got her spot on, in all her earnest, self-congratulatory glory. The only thing you missed was the comments--her blog regularly receives adoring comments, obviously written by her.
ReplyDeletePriceless.
