Visual Metaphors for Teaching

If you visit the site (http://www.lefthandedtoons.com/853/), you can see the little guy actually waggling his feet. I'm not sure if I'm the dog or if the students are the dog, but either way. Yeah. I identify with this in a big way.

    too many times we're the ones holding the dogs up...they need to drop sometimes, but too many of us are working harder than they are!

    I didn't realize the dog was walking on water til I saw the original (I guess I thought it was a shiny table, she says, bimbostically). As a metaphor for teaching it's brilliant.
