In the past day or so, the spam blocker seems to have been outfitted with a stronger filter of some kind. 20 comments yesterday and 7 already today have been re-directed to our spam filter. This is a much higher number than in the previous months, and I don't have an explanation for it.
One thing to try and keep in mind is this. If your comment doesn't immediately appear, don't assume that the moderator is an "asshole, trying to silence dissenting voices."
I do not work on the site all day long. I check in from time to time during my day, and always check the spam filter. Every comment that has been caught in the Google spam filter has made its way onto the site. I'm sorry when this has inconvenienced you.

@Moderator: Thanks for the info.; I figured you would have said something if there were any clear dos or don'ts, but couldn't resist playing around. Apparently I don't do a very good imitation of a spambot. Maybe the originating domain/IP address also plays a role? Anyway, it's good to know that the possibility of comments getting hung up in the system exists, and that they will eventually be rescued. Thanks for all you do.
