Instituted at Colleges and Universities Nationwide TODAY!

ZOMG you guys! After years of effort, President Obama's higher education bill--which mandates nationwide trust in professors, asserting that they are experts in their field deserving of respect, living wages, and job security--has FINALLY become law. Huzzah!

One of the fantastic results: the new tenure application. I used to dread the thought, but now? I can't WAIT to apply for tenure. This is going to be so great!!! Be sure to share this with all your friends--especially the adjuncts and stuff. So happy for us all!!!

Hugs and kisses and academic freedom,
Sammy

  3. I think this is an April Fools joke unfortunately.

  4. @ Fie: Your words, they confuse me! I can read them but they don't make any sense. Can you rephrase?

@ Cynic: I am too easily confused to be in charge (see comment to Fie, above). Plus I am silly. And a girl. I draw cartoons. I mean, come on! I would probably turn my university's mascot into a sunshine unicorn that doesn't fight, because our current one looks so MEAN.

  5. It's a funny drawing, but what's with all the ads on the page?

  6. @Fussy: I'm assuming that the new, improved College Misery/Ecstasy is, like all forward-looking educational enterprises these days, a profitmaking entity. Hence the ads. One problem -- they're slowing down the loading of the page considerably, at least for me.

I'm also wondering whether the "Psalm for the Day" ever runs the more depressing and/or gorier bits of the Psalms. So far, the selections seem rather. . . .selective. Perhaps Samantha (or her unicorn) is in charge over there.

  9. This is off topic, but does anyone else think the new graphic looks like a shark? I am not saying I don't like it....I don't mind being portrayed as a shark.

Also, I always had ads. Go figure.
