Dear College Bookstore,
Thank you for keeping the officially licensed apparel store open during the weekend, while keeping the bookstore part firmly locked down. I mean, who wants their flakes to have access to their books on the first day of classes? I, for one, am happy that you've given them their first excuse of the term. Well done.
Sincerely,
Zeke
My school as well. What gives? How stupid is that?
ReplyDeleteMaybe we are at the same school.
ReplyDeleteAs I've obsessively chronicled on the site - that's how I do it! - I'm starting this semester at a great SLAC in the PNW after several years at a CC in the Southwest.
ReplyDeleteWe are geographically in the sme region...
ReplyDeleteSame. Not sme. WTF.
ReplyDeleteDo you put books on reserve in the library? Granted, most of the flakes can't find the library if asked, and wouldn't avail themselves of it if they could, but it's a good resource for the few serious students who are unexpectedly caught up in bookstore stupidity or some other snafu. It saved my life once when I was sent the wrong book by an Amazon seller. It took two weeks to sort out, during which time I was either reading in the library or using my own books to do the required readings (I remember The Anchor Book of Chinese Poetry coming in very handy at this time).
ReplyDeleteCollege. Bookstores. Are. The. Devil.
ReplyDeleteTHE DEVIL.
F'ing MF'ers.
WTF? Did they even get your book orders correct?
ReplyDeleteOur bookstore opens at 10 a.m. on the first day of classes (and is not open the day before, or the weekend before). So students cannot buy books (or apparel) before Day 1 at 11 a.m. anyway! Way to deal with crowd control, right?
