Your Paper Comments: Soon to be a Major Motion Picture

A few weeks back, I was goofing around on Facebook.  In doing so, I linked to a YouTube clip of a movie that I'm sure most of us have seen.

As I was reviewing that clip, I realized that this NSFW bit could serve me quite well when writing comments on student papers.  Like, I could just write that short question at the top of ever paper. (And if you happen to teach in a language other than English, you could do the same by simply substituting your language for the word "English.")

So, a game!  In the comments, link to other snippets of movie dialogue that could double as insightful commentary on student work.  The more biting, the better.

FULL Video.

  1. "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

    1. Here's a video mashup:

  2. Office Space, Printer:

  3. "I will forget about each and every one of you almost immediately." (The Inbetweeners Movie)

  4. "They're not bad. Just stupid." (Spaced Invaders)

'I'll use small words so you'll be sure to understand." (Princess Bride)

"What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I've ever heard. At no point in your rambling incoherent responses were you ever close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it" (Billy Madison)
