While I, too, am not going to be there (like CC, my studies deal with the more contemporary), but I love the fact that CM people are trying to get together at these events.
Any chance of getting an official 'group meet' in some of the big conferences around the country?
Aw, not heading to the Zoo this time (although I have in the past-- was fun). Have fun, though, with all of those Chaucer people and those Duns Scotus people and those Marjorie Kempe people, and the Franciscans in habits and Yankees caps.
I recommend Great Lakes Shipping Co. for dinner. We had such a nice meal there, that at the end of our conference, we had our closing dinner there in a private side room.
Yes, I'll be there. Send me a message to buggerit.98@gmail.com.
ReplyDeleteDone. :)
DeleteI will not be at Kalamazoo this year. I wish I could, though.
ReplyDeleteAnything known in shorthand as "the zoo" really should have a CM meetup, but sadly I am many miles away (and several centuries too late in my focus).
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this for me, RGM. :)

ReplyDeleteMaybe it's a sign of how nerdy I am, but that sounds like a damn good time.
DeleteMy favourite game with MK people is to yell, "SHE WAS BATSH!T CRAAAAAAAAAZY!" -- and then run like the dickens.
DeleteDuns Scotus! THOSE GUYS ARE THE WORST! SOOOOO BORING!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that where Katie is from?
ReplyDeleteThat took me very long to type correctly. Very much drinking.
I love medieval studies, but it's not my academic focus... or even close to it. But if it were at all possible, I'd make the trip if I could!
ReplyDeleteAye, the site o' me undergrad days...
ReplyDeleteOne of these years they might even let me back inside city limits, but alas never agin w/in Waldo's...
;^)

ReplyDeleteI'm in-town for this fantastic event; what's the secret sign for the meet-up?
ReplyDeleteDon't say the dance; nothing is worse than a thousand medievalists trying to get down and boogey...
