Frog and Toad Are Sad

I lost a dear colleague on Wednesday. He was fierce, and funny, and kind, and committed. He was Yaro, if Yaro were a gay man with a rapier-like wit.

His students adored him and we, his friends and colleagues, felt likewise. He was very young.

In all the misery, there are people who find and make beauty wherever they go, and he was one of them. That is why I don't leave, after all.
