A Great New Novella About Being an Adjunct.

Amazon recently published Gordon Haber's terrific novella, "Adjunctivitis," a tragicomedy about an L.A. adjunct on a desperate quest for health insurance. It's only $2.99 for the e-book but adjuncts can have a PDF for free. All they have to do is write the author here.

The book is doing well already, and was an editor's pick on Amazon this month.

  1. Wow, it's funny, at least the parts I read on Amazon.

  4. Thanks for the kind words, everybody. Do a fellow adjunct a favor and write an Amazon review -- it really makes a difference.

  5. Jesus, is there anything else? The mods advertised it, I and some others bought it. We're not done yet? Want us to deliver some of copies in our home towns? And we aren't all fellow adjuncts. I'm not, but I still chuckled at it and enjoyed a lot of it. (Especially the setup.)

I do admit I felt at times that maybe the narrator had never even met a woman, so woeful was his ability to understand or communicate. Isaac is an interesting character, but I never believed for a moment he'd befriend our sad sack hero.

And I could not stomach the ending. His choices at the end simply do not make sense based on the character you draw so well in the early pages.

But, I appreciate your hard work marketing the thing and do wish you well. I am not a fiction guy, but I read as much as I have time for, and I spent a pleasant afternoon with your work.

    And,
