Let's Help Yahoo Answers Get This Shit Right.

I"M A COLLEGE STUDENT,51 YEARS OLD AND MY COLLEGE PROFESSOR IS MUCH OLDER BUT HE STARES AND LOOKS AWAY,WHY DOESN'T HE SAY ANYTHING?

  1. Because he doesn't want to? Because he's waiting for you to answer the question he just asked you, but you weren't paying enough attention to hear it? I don't know; give us a better hint. Surely in 51 years you've learned some things about people. Or maybe the last 36 years have all been the same year, repeated 35 times.

  2. He srsly wants you. That's how all professors act when they want you.

  3. I want to send in my own humorous anectdotes but I don't see any instructions. You should make it easier for people to take part.

    1. See the GIANT E-MAIL YER MISERY badge at the top right of the page? Click on that, and an email box will open (just make sure that you are emailing from an account you don't mind the moderators seeing/using). Most of us have gmail accounts set up for this to help us maintain our anonymity as best we can.

    2. Are you one of my students? I'm only asking because you are ignoring clearly written, posted instructions.

  4. The prof is not looking at you,but rather at the 20-something co-ed wearing a tank top and short shorts that is sitting next to you.

  5. Stares AND looks away? At the same time? Maybe he's trying to figure out wtf just came out of your mouth and why you, a 51-year-old just said that.

    1. Maybe he has a lazy eye. Then he could do both.

  6. Most middle-aged college students I've encountered are great: they ask good questions, have their acts together, take responsibility when they don't, and generally keep both me and the other students on their/our toes. But every once in a while you get one whose behavior makes it very clear why (s)he didn't finish college at the traditional age, and who seems to have acquired few life skills in the interim. . . .

  7. Do you think this is meant to be 15? Early college admittance? What 51 year old posts on Yahoo Answers?

  9. I've come back to re-read this a couple of times - I have no idea exactly what the point is that the 51 year old is trying to make.

    1. I think they're asking why their professor stares at them, then quickly looks away when caught staring. That's what my years of "deciphering remedial text" tells me.

  10. This 51 year old should consider himself lucky to be being taught by the progeny of Princess Diana and Donald Trump!

  11. Meh, you guys don't know how to interpret bad writing. Two comma splices in a row show the student isn't 51; it's the age of the prof.

  12. Usually, the complaint is about the instructor being YOUNGER than them and knowing more.
