Wonderful, as always and... particularly about the (very) cold building; I had to keep my coat on the other day in the office and almost did so for class last night!
Santa is giving my building one stupendous gift this year: a new heating system! We can hardly wait as our average temp in the building has been in the 50s since October.
I do love the Chamberpot of Fs. That would make an excellent gift for someone's favorite proffie's desk.
The workmen removed the old one and put a 'temoporary' one in a little hut outside back in October (no, I have no idea why this was necessary) and since then have been installing the new one. The old boiler was unreliable and the only way to adjust the thermostat in an individual office was to ring "the centre" and a man would come over with a special tool sometime in the next week to make the adjustment. The temporary boiler is worse... because the 'thermostat' can only be adjusted for the whole system, and the system is unevenly distributing the heat. So some people are sweltering and calling for it to be turned down, other people are freezing, but I guess it's equal-opportunity misery!
So good--Folkchurch, you rock the comic insights.

ReplyDeleteI also love the new banner! Feels so much more like CM with Samantha's work.

My building's getting a new boiler as well.
