They have their own anthem!

One of them does, at least. Robin Pecknold (b. 1986) of the Fleet Foxes is the songwriter, and he sings of the challenges of growing up in Generation Snowflake. The song called, "Helplessness Blues," from the album of the same name.

  1. Listening to this while reading the article linked immediately above makes for an interesting experience. Good to see that some of them have at least a bit of insight into the absurdity of their upbringing. It will be interesting to see what they do with/to their own children.

  3. Did you hear the related "This American Life"? About the girl who doesn't have a job BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T APPLY FOR ONE?

ZOMG, I wanted to punch her in the face.

  4. I just saw them in concert. It was great. Too loud, but great. Plus, so much flannel, knitted hats, and beards it felt like I was seeing a band from the 90's (too bad they're from Seattle and not Portland so I can't reference Portlandia here).
