From Cal's New Book...

I know he will beg me to place several ads for this fucking thing once next year comes, so why not just get some of this over now....

  1. Well done, Cal! As I told you a few years ago, Mrs. ELS taught a unit a few years ago from your Pop Thorndale book...great stuff.

I, well, I'm not a poet. But I love this one!

  3. Very cool. I was wondering how a vidshizzle could have something to do with a book --- but of course, spoken word poetry. This is an ad campaign I'll enjoy.

  4. Thanks, folks, and to Terry for putting it up. I will do my best not to bug you about it until March or whenever it comes out. I'll be at the AWP in Minneapolis (for you English / CW folks) to promote it, and once it's for sale I'll request about 3/4 of the page for my author photo and a link. Haha.

The vidshizzles are what I do to relax - and golf - when I simply can't stare into the abyss of another freshman essay.

  7. When your bad girlfriend finally leaves for good, making off with your coolest shirt, maybe you'll meet accidentally with a woman at Citibank whose sartorial choices tend differently:

She wants a car with a cupholder arm rest
She wants a car that will get her there
She's changing her name from Kitty to Karen
She's trading her MG for a white Chrysler La Baron
I want a girl with a short skirt and a lonnnnggggggggg jacket.

    - lyrics by John McCrea, ca. 2001.

    1. That's what I get from copy/pasting that from a non-authoritative source. The car is a LeBaron.
