Why would a domain name cost so much money? I see them advertised for $10 or so on go daddy.com.
ReplyDeleteI'm not 100% sure, but I think the answer is that there are vultures who snatch up just-expired domains for the normal price, and then hold them hostage at exorbitant prices. I think there have even been some lawsuits over this practice by entities concerned about protecting their trademarks. It's a pretty sleazy business model, but apparently it works, because it's been around for some time now.
