  5. And some (most?) days I'm just trying to remember what day it is, and what we're supposed to be doing in class. This, of course, is what syllabi (or least course calendars) are for -- whether or not the students read them, by a few weeks into the semester the professors rely on them to remember what the heck they planned when they were considerably less sleep-deprived and (perhaps) a bit more sane (see inmate/asylum, above).
