    2. That looks more like a lab, or maybe a faculty bullpen, than a single-occupancy office, but I still like the idea. I can also think of variations, e.g. skeleton in office chair and festoons of cobwebs, suggesting the occupant expired some time ago, but has yet to be removed (or does that just play into stereotypes of proffies? A dummy passed out at the desk with empty bottle just out of reach certainly would -- or is that just CM stereotypes of proffies).

This picture does provide evidence that one phenomenon we've already discussed on CM extends to the exteriors of buildings: not only do all campuses apparently look alike, so do all classroom buildings. I'd swear we have those doors, those walls, those ceilings, and even those notice holders on my campus (and we probably do).

    3. Yeah, good point. When I said my office looks completely different, what I really meant was, my desk is to the right of the door. So, if I mirrored this photo, it could actually work.

Another difference is that in my building, many walls are cinder block---painted, yes, but their greyness radiates nonetheless.

  2. I'm not happy with the ageism apparent in the graphic.

    2. To be honest, anonymous, you could easily have told us everything we need to know had you stopped after the 3rd word.

    3. Hi. ELS sent me a note. He put the Anonymous one up there to poke fun at the "ageist" commenter who comes around every once in a while and usually goes by anonymous.

But, seriously, folks, the anonymous thing is not going to last. I'm just going to zap them. As I've been reminded, it's a rule of the page, and I'm asking everyone to use your pseudonym, etc. My only other option is to turn anonymous and Name/URL off and then you'll have to be signed into Google in order to comment.
