  2. Beautiful. If there was a small paperback version with a nice thick cover and binding to it, like the small notebooks I see a lot of my colleagues carry around to meetings, I'd buy one.

  3. Print on demand projects are not terribly hard to set up. I can ask Yaro if he would mind, but since all his writing for us is on the web already I'm sure he wouldn't. It would be unfair to profit from it, of course, but personal copies would be certainly reasonable.

  4. Whenever he mentioned his "stream," the first thing that always popped into my mind was menstrual stream. It always made me laugh. He seemed so happy.

  5. I do hope Yaro is enjoying his retirement. I'd love to hear from him some day -- about it or about his reminiscences of teaching -- but it hardly seems fair to ask him to direct his attention back toward the misery.

  7. BEST present ever!!! I love it. The peace that Yaro brings is needed at midterm time!

PS ANy chance of a publication of Greta's haiku? I know, I know, you give 'em something an they start to demand things!

  8. If Yaro were to write a book about his experiences as a professor, I would buy and treasure it. What I love about Yaro is that he recognizes that there are frustrations about this job but at the same time there are wonders about it too, and we can kind of sit between the two and be bemused. He's the kind of professor I'd like to be.

  10. "She is the wheel to my barrow." Yes, Yaro, yes, yes, yes. This is why I swoon. The gentle voice, wisdom, and kindness that come from his postings. Yes.
