Merely Academic Has a Query For iPhone Folks.

I haven’t commented in ages, mostly because I check CM regularly on my iPhone (in a coffeeshop on the way in to work), but am for some reason unable to comment from my iPhone.

I can type in a comment in the field, but it won’t let me sign into my Google account to actually post it. Is anyone else having this problem, and is there a workaround?

PS from LK: I tend to have to login to Google a couple of times a day if I want to check the page or work on it. I've yet to find a way for it work smoothly, but have usually been able to get it going.

  1. I sign in before writing any comments as, when I comment first, then sign in, the post disappears. I am on Safari on my iPad and iPhone.

  2. No problems here. I signed in with Safari and comment. I have an iPod 5.

If I want to edit my comment, though, I have to hit "done" and then click back on the comment box. It won't let me move the cursor without hitting "done" first. But that's not a hardship.

  3. If Blogger is fucking with you in unpredictable ways, always copy your comment onto your clipboard before clicking "Publish" on your iPhone or elsewhere. Make it a habit.

    Also, click here.

Also, set up a fake Blogger blog. Tell the people at your school's IT help desk that you are trying to use it in your class for students to post comments about a project, but it won't let your students post comments from iPhones. The IT people will be able to help you.

  4. Okay. I am signed in on my iPad, according to Google. Let's see if this works.

    1. Huzzah! Thanks, everyone. I had to hit "publish" twice. But that was all. I will just make sure I"m signed in in advance.

Good idea re: a fake blog and IT, Bubba. I would do that, except that my Institution of Origin is trying out some fancy new in-house system and wants us all to set up student blogs on it. It is Wordpress-based and a nightmare to use unless you know what you're doing, which I emphatically do not. Perhaps I can persuade them to migrate to Blogger. (Ha.)
