  1. Congratulations! That's wonderful news!

Hmm. . .tenure and recognition from Beaker Ben as the reigning poet laureate of CM (with apologies to Richard Tingle, but he materializes only infrequently). Not bad for a year's work!

  2. Thanks, CC! The tenure actually took three years, but the recognition from Beaker Ben? That was touching. I owed you all a better offering today, but that's all I had.

  3. Hey! Congratulations GLG! Did you do anything to celebrate? Or did you just sit back and breathe out a huge sigh.

  4. Congratulations! I slept like a dead woman for about two weeks after getting tenure. What a lovely feeling...

  5. Congratulations, Greta!

Now don't ever publish anything ever again. That will show those bastards who's boss.

  6. No, just publish a treatise on the history of urinal and toilet graffiti, and dedicate it to all the academics and students who made your life a living hell before tenure.

  7. Congratulations! What a relief! But now you get to be on all the committees to show your "greater obligation to the institution."

  8. Congrats Greta! If I'm corectly remembering my rules for poetry, this means you get an extra syllable in the third line.
