What time is the Super Bowl?

Is it too early to start drinking for it now?

  1. If my team were playing, I'd already be drunk. Alas, the Seahawks eliminated my team, so I'm surly.

  2. It's never too early to start but you'll need to stock up so that you have enough to get you through the whole weekend. Plan ahead.

  3. If you're a Cowboys fan you've been drinking daily since Romo arrived in town. (Oh, that's just mean.)

    1. They're going to make Jerry's stadium a tornado shelter. Nothing touches down there..

      Ba-dum-bum.

    2. "Did you enjoy those three Super Bowls? I hope you did; I hope you did very much."- Jerry Jones, circa 1998

Yes, I did. But that was a generation ago. My kids wonder why my favorite team is a perennial loser. Kids these days, I tell ya...

    3. Crayon Eater:

I'm going to steal that line because that fits for the local football team.

    4. Sounds like a line from this last season regarding a certain Big10 quarterback after a really awful game: the State Department had plans to send him to North Korea because he over throws everything

  4. My hubby has baby Jake in a TINY Seahawks jersey, so I guess that's who we're cheering for today. Duh, tomorrow.

But I confess I like the uniforms of Denver better. I'm in the PNW, though, so we have been deluged with Seahawk mania these past weeks. 12th Man This. 12th Man That. There's a store in our town selling "12th Man Beer." It's Budweiser with a sticker on it. Eeesh.

When do the Olympics start? It's the first year women get to ski jump!!!

    XOXOXO
    Darla

PS: I miss so many of you. Jake takes up all of my time. Oh, and the students.

    1. Always good to see you when you do pop up, Darla. Glad you and hubby are enjoying the little guy, and your still-somewhat-new location.

  5. Well, I guess it depends on whether you're planning to go to church tomorrow morning. Not that people haven't been known to show up to services somewhat under the weather, but that's more a Christmas eve thing. And in this case, fellow-parishioners might miss out on their own pre-game rituals while trying to get you home safely.

Or, as Ben said: plan ahead.

I'm thinking of doing laundry, since I expect the communal laundry room to be eerily quiet for a Sunday afternoon. Or I could go have all the salt washed off my car (the game isn't on the radio, right?).

  6. Oh, shit, I just realized the implications of this. Monday morning is going to be fun in class.

    1. Indeed. Add to that, in our area, a Possible Weather Event (per the more excitable forecasters), and I don't think it's going to be the most productive day.
