From Reg W. No Context Necessary. Don't Boss Me Around!

The drunken UConn idiot who threw a tantrum when he was denied the sweet, sweet pleasures of cheesy pasta has finally surfaced. Luke Gatti, a 19-year-old student at the University of Connecticut, flew into a rage when he couldn’t get his “fucking bacon jalapeño mac and cheese” in a video that made headlines last week. Now, he has apologized for the incident, saying that he acted like a “complete asshole” to the cafeteria worker who tried to kick him out of the school’s dining hall.“This was seriously a wake-up call,” said Gatti. Interestingly enough, it wasn’t the other two times that he was arrested before — once for reportedly shouting the n-word at a police officer — that were his wake up call. No, it took the denial of some fucking bacon jalapeño mac and cheese to really bring him to rock bottom.

  1. I read somewhere he'd be in court today.

  2. Imagine the ad campaign this food service could run:

Fucking bacon jalapeño mac and cheese.
Ours is so good, you'd use your third strike to get it.

  3. Well, he's saying all the right things, and saying them quite well/charmingly. Apparently he's got the ability to talk himself out of situations as well as into them, which can be either a blessing or a curse, depending on how well he manages to follow up on what I'm willing to believe are genuine good intentions. To aid in that follow-up, I hope there are serious (though not draconian) repercussions for what he did (so the talking-out-of ability doesn't serve him too well), and I hope he at least takes a break from drinking. Whether that break needs to be permanent time will tell; if he's right that he's just not himself (or the self he aspires to be) when he's drinking, then there's an obvious, though admittedly not always easy to implement, solution to that, and a worldwide community dedicated to helping him follow through.

    1. With all its faults/weaknesses (and, though I have no direct personal experience, positive or negative, I don't doubt they exist), I think plain old AA's got that covered pretty well (and their philosophy/approach would probably serve Mr. Gatti pretty well, at least in the short term).

  4. His courage is exemplary! How the world has kept him down and forced him on that couch.

But, I state this without fear. He'll get his drinking under control. I really think he just needs more practice. Once he actually reaches the legal drinking age, it's going to go a lot better for him. And I can't wait to see the heights he'll reach.

    BE STRONG LUKE!!!

    1. My heart breaks. All he wanted was mac and cheese. And to be a fucking raging asshole. Again, and again.

  5. Please don't be a business major. We have an uphill PR battle as it is.
